Yucca Rostrata Blue Swan, also known as 'Blue Beaked Yucca' is one of the most stunning, architectural plants money can buy. This statement plant grows elegant long and thin leaves with a waxy feel to them which arrange themselves to form it's shapely head. These leaves are quite ridgid near the stem but are very flexible at the widest point moving in even a slight breeze. One key thing to note is that although uncommon, Yucca Rostrata can flower producing a tall flowering stalk of white & yellow flowers which protrudes up to 1.5m tall.

Yucca Rostrata are native to Northen Mexico and Southern Texas. It is an evergreen tree which thrives ideally in a full sun position in well drained soil. They can live in pots however ideally will want repotting after a couple of years to prevent the plant becoming pot bound. 

Yucca Rostrata are one of the most cold and drought tolerant plants out there once established.

Positioning & Care:

Full sun position (South Facing Ideally) but can be grown in a more sheltered area of the garden. Water sparingly if not at all throughout winter but occasionally during the heat of summer and its growing period.

Max height: 4m - Max Spread: 1.5m

Growing Habit:

Slow growing commonly with one trunk. Tree like in growth with grey/blue foliage at top of the stem.

Additional Information:

Super hardy plant down to -15 degrees or lower. These can be grown in a pot or in the ground. Compact yet architectural head producing tall stemmed flowers once every 5 years or so. These are phenomenal statement plants.
