Description
T. fortunei is a evergreen palm tree which can grow to 12m+. This is one of the most common grown palms in the UK due to its tolerance to the dramatic changes in our climate.
As this palm grows from the top outward, it will eventually loose its lower branches which will need trimming to keep it neat and tidy. The trunk will eventually be covered in a fluffy fibre whilst it produces large fan shaped, dark green leaves growing up to 1m in width. As the palm matures it will produce large arching sprays of small, light yellow kidney shaped flowers to blue-black fruits in the autumn.
Chusan Palm are super easy to grow in either the ground or in a pot. Once established they will require little watering making them great for low maintenance gardens.
