'Metamorphosa' is a compact, deciduous shrub with deeply-cut, five- or seven-lobed leaves that emerge yellow in spring with a reddish-pink edge maturing to light green with a pale pink edge to mid-green with a white edge as summer progresses. The foliage turns orange-red in late summer before finally turning red-violet in autumn.
